Many may already know Bieber through his 17 years of service to the University of Nebraska community, where he has previously held strategic roles in IT identity management, IT security, and web applications in addition to teaching courses periodically in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

A native Nebraskan, Bieber has provided critical leadership to complex university and national projects including establishing single-sign-on at NU; partnering closely with faculty senates and student governments to launch DUO two-factor authentication in front of 100% of our core university services; championing the expansion of eduroam to K-12, nonprofit and library partners across the state through the ConnectEd Nebraska program; and advising the roll out of baseline security standards for all US institutions in the InCommon Federation. Bieber serves on the international Internet2 Program Advisory Group, the US eduroam Advisory Committee, and has formerly chaired the B1G Identity Management Task Force as well as InCommon's Community Trust and Assurance Board.
