New functionality has been added to the Services section of the GlobalNOC Database, the Network Impact Tool, and integrations built within the GlobalNOC instance of ServiceNOW. These enhancements aim to allow users of the system to model redundancy built into Services documented in the GlobalNOC Database. This model can be leveraged in conjunction with GlobalNOC Monitoring systems and the Network Impact Tool to perform impact analysis of the service. This analysis indicates whether a service is fully available, available with a loss of redundancy, or fully impacted. This information is then interpreted by the GlobalNOC ServiceNOW system when sending notifications. These integrations not only allow notifications to be sent that indicate what customer facing services are impacted given an alarm set, but also how impacted those services are; whether it be fully impacted or available with a loss of redundancy.
